4 Utah Engineers Council Engineers Week 2009 Dr. Davy Belk , a member of the Senior Executive Service, is Director, Engineering Director- ate, Ogden Air Logistics Center, Hill Air Force Base, Utah. He is responsible for the develop- ment, implementation, and oversight of the technical policies and processes as well as the overall scientific and engineering expertise for the ALC. He is the center’s senior engineering manager and provides executive leadership and technical direction to an engineering and scientific work force of more than 900 science and engineering professionals supporting the center’s mission. Dr. Belk began his professional career at General Dynamics Fort Worth Division (now Lockheed-Martin) participating. In 1978, he came to work in the Compatibility Branch of the Air Force Armament Laboratory at Eglin Air Force Base as a flutter engineer, and has been involved in a variety of research, technology development, system development and sustainment activities since that time. Dr. Belk became Execu- tive Director of the Air Force SEEK EAGLE Office, 46th Test Wing, Eglin Air Force Base, Florida, in 2002, where he was responsible for providing combat capability to operational commands through aircraft- store certifications, compatibility evaluations and ordnance delivery planning software. Dr. Belk served at Headquarters Air Force Materiel Command as Technical Director for the Directorate of Engineering and Technical Management. Prior to assuming his current position, Dr. Belk was the Director of Engineering, 84th Combat Sustainment Wing, Ogden Air Logistics Center, Hill Air Force Base, Utah. Dr. Belk is an Associate Fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA), and has published numerous papers and journal articles. He is a past Chairman of the Northwest Florida Section of AIAA.
