Bring your issues! • Our board members learn skills and provide leadership, finances, event planning, scholarship, awards judging, teamwork, fund-raising andmore. This improves their professional develop- ment and brings it back to their Utah work place. Be part of the E-week, Fund-raising, Publication, awards, Scholarship, legislative and member- ship committees. Or become a leader and be the Chair, Vice-chair, Treasurer, 1st past Chair, 2nd past Chair. • Cost effective-UEC is run by volunteer representatives from each member society with one professional secretary. It is non-profit, so donations may be tax-deductible. Membership fees are low, compared to the member societ- ies. We run on a tight budget. Our funds come from dues, sponsors and donations only. • Network with other societies. This is the only place that all member societies come together and share best practices and lessons learned. • Prestige of membership-Another way to advertise your society and promote the engineering profession in Utah. A place to collaborate and coordinate joint meetings with other member societies. • Cooperates with the local and State government offices for job growth and development, including the GOED- Governor’s Office of Economic Devel- opment. • The UEC is contacted regularly to sub- mit names for nominations to strategic government and economic positions such as DOPL. • We keep an eye on legislation that af- fects you and your engineering society with the Legislative Committee.
