5 M att Beaudry manages the Utah Public-Private Partnership program (UP3) for the State of Utah’s Division of EmergencyManagement (DEM). Foster- ing economic resilience to disasters through preparation of Utah’s private sector is the primary objective of UP3. Building meaningful working relationships between public and private stakeholders is a key accomplishment, resulting in produc- tive resilience-building achievements with Utah’s lifeline and critical infrastructure sectors. Matt oversees the Be Ready Business preparedness outreach program, providing business continuity and disaster recovery information and training toUtah businesses. As DEM’s Private Sector Liaison, he facilitates working relationships between municipal, and county jurisdictions, and the businesses within their borders. As an emergency management trainer, Matt provides in- struction throughout the state on topics critical to planning, response and recovery capabilities within the public, private and NGO sectors. He is a subject matter expert on the Incident Command System (ICS), business continuity, and disaster recovery (BC/DR), recruited to assist with exercise planning and execution, specific to public-private interoper- ability. Matt teaches at Utah Valley University, and also conducts EMT training in the Salt Lake City area. Prior to joining DEM, he finished a 20-year firefighting career as a Captain with Provo Fire and Rescue. He is a certified Paramedic, Firefighter, and Hazardous Materials Technician. Matt holds degrees in Communications, and Emergency Services Management. He is a certified Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP) practitioner, assist- ing to develop and conduct exercises throughout the Rocky Mountain region.
