FEATURED SPEAKER OF THE ENGINEERS WEEK 2016 BANQUET Bryce Gibby B ryce Gibby, aviator, author, businessman, explorer, youth counselor, motivational speaker, and thor- oughly entertaining local personality will give this year's Utah Engineers Council keynote address. Bryce grew up in Riverdale, just next door to Ogden. He is the son of the owners of the locally well-knownGibby Floral. As a teen, he test-piloted his Dad's homemade aircraft, achieving his first solo flight at age 16. Bryce earned his commercial license at 18. He was, at the time, the youngest certified Airline Transport Pilot in the US at age 23. At 23, Gibby was employed by Coronado Flying Service in Albuquerque as Chief Flight Instructor and line pilot, flying charter flights in the southwest. Later he sold corporate airplanes for Beech Aircraft Company. Desiring to fly larger aircraft, Gibby flew propjet Metroliners for Skywest, then a fledgling airline. Next, hewas recruitedby EasternAirlines to be a DC-9 jet captain. Nowadays, Bryce is Director of Busi- ness Development at Kemp Development, Inc, located at theOgden airport. His job is to spread the news to everyone about the huge advantages to be had by considering the unique Ogden Airport in your development plans. Bryce will also be available to sign his books both before and after the banquet. He is the author of Valiant Young Men, Valiant Young Women, and the series "Tetralogy of Tales". The "Tales" series are works of fiction and include The Princess of Selgovae and the High King, His Majesty and the Prince of Lothian, The Captain and the DarkQueen, and The Red Dragon and the Crown of Saxnôt. They all ring true in part due to his personal exploration of the locations they take place in. 5
