16 ENGINEER OF THE YEAR NOMINEE Richard Reeder Richard Reeder was nominated for Utah’s Engineer of the Year by the Utah Chapter of ASHRAE and is a partner at VBFA where he specializes in the design of sustainable and affordable mechanical systems. He was instrumental in adapting ground source heat pumps to Utah’s climate and was one of the first engineers in the state to be certified as a LEED-Accredited Professional. Some of Rich’s most note- worthy projects include the 2002 Olympic Bobsled/Luge Track, the Utah Olympic Speed Skating Oval, and the 2010 Olympic (Vancouver) Whistler Sliding Center & Bobsled/ Luge. Richard was the lead ammonia engineer for these projects. He has been involved with the local chapters and leadership of ASHRAE, ACEC and USGBC. Additionally, he has received the Boy Scouts District Award of Merit for his leadership and mentoring and has volunteered for the Unit- ed Way, Brockstrong, Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Utah, and the Utah Food Bank. ENGINEER OF THE YEAR NOMINEE Lee Cammack The American Council of Civil Engineering of Utah has nominated Lee Cammack, President and CEO of J-U-B En- gineers, Inc., as Utah’s Engineer of the Year. Lee’s projects have included water resource development and delivery systems, wastewater collection and disposal, storm water collection systems, transportation and a variety of other municipal projects. Prior to joining J-U-B Engineers, Lee worked as the Chief Deputy Surveyor for Utah County and as the City engineer and public works director for Kays- ville City. His experience as a civil servant has significantly enhanced his success as a consulting engineer. Some of his notable projects include the Davis and Weber Counties Canal Company Breach Repair and Improvement Plan, the Clinton City Sewer Master Plan, the Antelope Island Cause- way rebuild, and many pressure irrigation systems through- out Utah including Kaysville, Clinton, West Point, Midway and Highland. Lee has enjoyed opportunities to serve in such organizations as the Boy Scouts of America, the Amer- ican Cancer Society, and Primary Children’s Hospital.
