28 MITCH SHEPHERD Mechanical Engineering University of Utah ASHRAE Mitch is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engi- neering at the University of Utah. He is an Eagle Scout and has worked at the Chevron Salt Lake Refinery as a designs engineering intern and at Van Boerum and Frank Associ- ates as a mechanical engineering intern. He is currently the vice president with the ASHRAE student chapter at the U. In high school, Mitch was the recipient of the New Cen- tury Scholarship. This lead to him receiving an associate’s degree at the same time he graduated from high school. Before studying at the U, he volunteered for two years in Russia where he learned to speak fluent Russian. Following graduation, Mitch desires to pursue a Master’s degree in business. HANNAH CRAWFORD Mechanical Engineering University of Utah ASHRAE Hannah completed her Associate Degree of Applied Engineering at Salt Lake Community College. She is now attending the University of Utah where she is pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering with an emphasis in Thermal Science and Energy Engineer- ing. Hannah is interested in the growing industry of solar energy, wind power and hydropower. She plans to gear all research and design projects towards renewable energy processes and innovations. Throughout her education, she found both success and enjoyment in studying mathemat- ics and sciences. From a very early age, she knew she want- ed to pursue a degree and career in the STEM program. Hannah is currently working as a project engineer intern at CCI Mechanical. She has enjoyed learning about HVAC systems and working within the construction industry. After graduation, she hopes to grow with CCI Mechanical as a Project Engineer or Project Manager.
